I give you Laura and Jason’s awesome Sayulita wedding. Thanks to my associate photographer extraordinaire, Yanen Ali for second shooting with me. Her eye and company are a wonderful thing. Yazmin Gizeh of Sea of Dreams did an excellent job designing and coordinating it all.

I think everyone at Aimee and John’s wedding including myself, caught the bug. Even when the car service didn’t show up at the W Hotel to take us to the ceremony, nothing stopped these two from smiling. Instead we squeezed into the cars we had including mine. The combination of their love, the good nature of this crowd, and the stunning backdrop of the Descanso Gardens made for a magical day.

The best idea for a guest book. Witty friends essential…
After 10 weeks of almost non-stop travel I am coming up for air! I’ve been to some great locations and photographed some really special weddings which I’ll be posting soon.
First up is Katharine and Alex’s wedding which is live on the Style Me Pretty blog today. I’m so happy that their wedding is getting some limelight. It was perfect. From the ceremony on the dock, to food stations throughout the house, the whole day felt organic, relaxed, and like a house party for their closest friends and family.

Some of my favorite images of the day…
My good friend Jillian Mitchell happened to be in the area so I was lucky to have her along with me for the day. I love these two photos she took of Alex below.
It’s a beautiful thing when you see one of your best and oldest friends marry their soul mate. It’s a complete honor to be the lucky one to photograph it all. Sweetening the deal even more is the fact that we made a trade; I photograph his wedding and he DJs my wedding. You’re engaged you ask? No, no plans to marry any time soon but I can not wait for Luke to DJ my wedding! Aside from being one of the Bay Area’s top DJs, Luke is a great friend, hilarious, creative, funky, and so much fun to be around. Michele is a bundle of beautiful, sweet, creative, amazingness herself and I am so crazy happy for the two of them. Their wedding was small, intimate, completely DIY, and filled with amazing DJs, so there was no shortage of good music. It took place at Wildwood Acres Resort in the canyons just outside of Oakland, California.
I’ve been the lucky beneficiary of many a DJ Platurn mix and now so are you! Click on the image below for a free download to the stellar mix that each of their guests received at their tables. FYI Luke is Icelandic and his real name is Illugi which is pronounced completely different than it looks. When he moved to California as a kid, he chose Luke (Skywalker, of course) to make things a little easier on himself and everyone else to get his name right.
Yes, Luke is very tall, and Michele’s aunt is very short!
A few shots of Michele’s awesome style and details.
These two funky ladies spent the better part of a year designing all of the details of their Puerto Vallarta wedding. It’s so great to see it featured on Style Me Pretty. Congratulations Lorena and Dustyn!
I had to take a pause during some West Coast wedding travels to announce this amazing post of Tami and Dan’s Playa Mujeres wedding on the Lovely blog today. Click on the image below to be directed to the Lovely blog and take a peak at the beauty of this wedding.
Style Me Pretty’s new destination blog is featuring Monica and Jared’s funky, classy, whimsical, vibrant, romantic Puerto Vallarta wedding today! Leave it to The Dazzling Details to transform whatever space they’re given into something awesome and very fun to photograph as if a wedding day isn’t fun enough. Getting an album back is one of the most exciting things for me. It’s the ultimate fruition of all of our efforts to capture the beauty and essence of a wedding day. It tells the whole story, it’s beautiful, and you can hold it in your hand. I’ve mentioned this before but I’m pretty much in love with Finao, the coolest album company around. When you first delve into the Finao’s options for styles and covers it can be a bit overwhelming but ultimately you can make something different and appropriate for every couple. Naomi and Nicholas’ wedding touched me to the core. They had to take a hug break to ‘cry it out’ during the ceremony and her girlfriends gave her roses to make her bouquet as she walked down the aisle; a couple after my heart with their palpable love and originality. Their wedding was lovely, classic, and cool. Here is the original post of their images.
Finao’s boxes are killer. Throw the right photo on there and it’s the perfect way to store your album.
Finao’s lovely packaging using recycled material.
They have two page styles, thick and thin. I love them both. This is the thick page.
Meet Scott and Liz, winners of the Elizabeth Lloyd Save The Date award. No, there was no competition, but they win anyway. I worked with Scott for years photographing Hip-Hop artists under his art direction. It was only fitting that this is his save the date.

Meet Lupe and Brandon, my rock star bride and groom from California. From their ceremony in the iconic Vallarta cathedral to photos in the charming cobblestone streets of Vallarta to their amazing reception in their stunning villa Casa Quetzal, these two know how to do it right. It was such a pleasure to get to know the two of them and to document their amazing wedding. The extremely talented ladies of Vallarta Incredible Weddings planned this seamless, gorgeous event.
